Wellbeing
As a school, and trust, we strive to support the mental and physical wellbeing of our pupils, staff and their families. We have a dedicated Mental Health Lead, and a Pastoral Lead whose role it is, along with the Headteacher, to look after our welfare.
Our work was recognised by Ofsted in May 2024 when we received an 'outstanding' judgement for our Personal Development. A selection of their comments are detailed below. The comments are followed by some links that we hope you will find helpful.
- Pupils and families highly regard the high-quality pastoral support they receive
- Pupils are happy and safe here
- Pupils care for each other
- Pupils are confident that any concerns they share with their ‘worry monsters’ will be dealt with quickly and effectively.
- Pupils understand the importance of mutual respect and helping everyone in the community.
- The school caters exceptionally well for pupils’ personal development. Leaders have carefully planned an exemplary range of additional opportunities. These are available to all, and participation levels are high.
- The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
The Livewell campaign aims to support families across Essex to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. It can help residents to eat well, get more active and help you find the support you need, to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The Livewell website has an interactive page where you can filter activities and events by location to discover what is happening near you, from park run, dementia-friendly fitness classes to Meet up Mondays. You can also get advice on nutrition, help to lose weight, healthy recipe ideas and where to get a healthier takeaway.
The website also has advice and details of where to go if you need mental health support in Essex.
