Arrival and Collection

Our School day starts at 8.35am.

Learning starts in the classrooms at 8.35am.

We continue to keep the gates open until 8.45am as we recognise that on occasions events occur that impact on your arrival time at school. However, if your child arrives at 8.45am every day, they miss 31 hours of teaching a year. That's 186 hours or 6 weeks over their primary schooling.

Arrival after the gates have closed
If your child arrives at school after the gates have been closed (8:45am), please bring them directly to the school office. You will be asked to sign your child in and give a reason for their late arrival.  If a child is persistently late arriving at school it is highly likely to become a safeguarding concern.

Please note that the gates for our school nursery are open later. Pupils for the main school cannot access the school via the nursery provision as the classroom doors are already closed and the teachers are teaching. To admit children without staff's awareness would be a safeguarding issue - please do not ask us to do it.

Any late arrival can be distressful for the child and is disruptive to their learning as well as the learning of others.

Late collection
The school day ends at 3.15pm.
We open our gates at 3.10pm to allow parents and carers time to reach the classrooms for 3.15pm.

We keep the gates open until 3.25pm as we recognise that on occasions events occur that delay your arrival. After 3.15pm children will need to be collected from the school office. When you arrive, you will be asked to sign your child out and provide a reason as to the late collection.

If a child is persistently collected after 3.25pm it is highly likely to become a safeguarding concern. You may also be invoiced for additional staffing costs.

If you are going to be late in collecting your child, please make every effort to let us know as oon as you can. This can be quiet distressing for children and this will enable us to reassure them that you are safe and that you are going to pick them up.
